Wednesday the Masters had gathered for an introduction session with Johan Vandermaelen. Originally an audio engineer, he started recording for many films. Over time he was severals times put in charge of the sound design of some projects.
He started the session by letting us listen to the opening scene of 'Nouvelle Vague' by Jean-Luc Godard. He asked us to single out every sound first, and placing them under the categories of voices, ambience + sound fx and music.
By the end of the session, he gave a 10 step plan for perfectly recording and rendering sounds for filmmaking.
In the future, an individual meeting will be held to talk about the sound concept.
